Maintenan, Olivier, notre petit fils regard le reste:

                              TU SERAS UN HOMME MON FILS........................................

Sans un geste et sans un soupir ;
Pourtant lutter et te défendre ;
Si tu peux supporter d'entendre tes paroles
Sans mentir toi-même d'un seul mot ;
Sans qu'aucun d'eux soit tout pour toi ;
Si tu sais méditer, observer et connaître
Sans jamais devenir sceptique ou destructeur ;
Penser sans n'être qu'un penseur ;
Sans être moral ni pédant ;

The first book Lew published besides helping me to understand the philosophy of the Art of Daoisme and Tai-Chi, also offered me a few techniques of relaxation that without it, it is impossible to have access to the dimensions where we want to reach while practicing Tai-chi, and it happens through Mind and is manifested only when we are relaxed...

The amazing photographs of this book are exemples of mastering the Art of photography through practicing the art of Tai-Chi... Tai-chi leads to the diffent levels/states of Mind where the beauty is the  Being... therefore, eternilizing the beauties by the Art of photography or any other forms of Arts......Lew often repeats,' Tai-chi is practiced all the time, 24 hours per day...'

HAPPY 2012 Chinese New Year

Chinese New Year is the longest and most important celebration in the Chinese calendar. The Chinese year 4710 begins on Jan. 23, 2012.
Chinese months are reckoned by the lunar calendar, with each month beginning on the darkest day. New Year festivities traditionally start on the first day of the month and continue until the fifteenth, when the moon is brightest. In China, people may take weeks of holiday from work to prepare for and celebrate the New Year.

Breathing Fire into the New Year

Legend has it that in ancient times, Buddha asked all the animals to meet him on Chinese New Year. Twelve came, and Buddha named a year after each one. He announced that the people born in each animal's year would have some of that animal's personality. Those born in dragon years are innovative, brave, and passionate. Salvador DaliJohn Lennon, and Mary-Louise Parker were all born in the year of the dragon.

Fireworks and Family Feasts

At Chinese New Year celebrations people wear red clothes, decorate with poems on red paper, and give children "lucky money" in red envelopes. Red symbolizes fire, which according to legend can drive away bad luck. The fireworks that shower the festivities are rooted in a similar ancient custom. Long ago, people in China lit bamboo stalks, believing that the crackling flames would frighten evil spirits.

The Lantern Festival

In China, the New Year is a time of family reunion. Family members gather at each other's homes for visits and shared meals, most significantly a feast on New Year's Eve. In the United States, however, many early Chinese immigrants arrived without their families, and found a sense of community through neighborhood associations instead. Today, many Chinese-American neighborhood associations host banquets and other New Year events.
The lantern festival is held on the fifteenth day of the first lunar month. Some of the lanterns may be works of art, painted with birds, animals, flowers, zodiac signs, and scenes from legend and history. People hang glowing lanterns in temples, and carry lanterns to an evening parade under the light of the full  moon.
In many areas the highlight of the lantern festival is the dragon dance. The dragon—which might stretch a hundred feet long—is typically made of silk, paper, and bamboo. Traditionally the dragon is held aloft by young men who dance as they guide the colorful beast through the streets. In the United States, where the New Year is celebrated with a shortened schedule, the dragon dance always takes place on a weekend. In addition, many Chinese-American communities have added American parade elements such as marching bands and floats.

Gift to my dear foster mother, exceptional June Laura Kenney...LIFE....INSPIRED BY BOTH SIDES NOW-JODI MITCHEL-21 JAN 2012

Both sides Now-I1, Shahrzad Ghaffari, JAN.21. 2012
Both sides Now-I2, Shahrzad Ghaffari, JAN.21. 2012
Both sides Now-I3, Shahrzad Ghaffari, JAN.21. 2012

I love this last version of 'Both Sides Now' that I discovered in my Singing classe...Jamilah was singing it wonderfuly thanks to you dear Ira who know how to make us sing the way it works for us...I may try to sing it...Jane sings it wonderfully, too. I may try this session Nana Mouskouri's and next session Both sides now!
Last year, when June Laura Kenny my wonderful foster mother had her strock and had lost her short term memory, I called and Dad Clifford Kenny passed Mom to me, right away I was inspired to gro on Youtube and find this song (I had listen to it for a few times the previous days) and asked Mom if she know the song and she said yes....when I ran this song, there was a big silence until it was finished...Mom  was singing the song with difficulties but I could hear all her emmontional releases through her brocken voice...Dad took the phone and thanked me and told me that the song released all the pressure and stress which were blocked in her...it seemed that her tears were running generousely to give her some comfort...from then, I picked songs that I liked and it worked, she somehow started to trust again in her and so Dad and others...
It seems that the music memory is located somewhere that the strock cannot affect it...Since then, I decided to memorise my favorite songs....thanks to you Joni Mitchel with your amazing song 'Both sides now'

Here some information about the book Mom wrote about the time she was in Hollywood...

Fleeing the Fates of the Little Rascals

June Laura Kenney

I am a former 'Little Rascal,' circa 1934-1939, and was in a few other Hollywood 1930's films, but that wasn't the future I wanted. Instead I wanted the world of books, reading and writing and headed myself in that direction, later becoming a teacher for 36 years.

Along the way I was helped and loved by many blessed adults, and some of them were even famous and very noteworthy. I tell it all in my own book, 'Fleeing the Fates of the Little Rascals.'

Fleeing the Fates of the Little Rascals
 View, through the eyes of a child and teenager, the scene of growing up in the glamorous Hollywood of the 1930s and 1940s! During childhood, the author visited or auditioned at almost every major movie studio in Tinseltown. What was it like to work on the set of Hal Roach's Little Rascals? To be given a screen test with one of Hollywood's greatest directors? To be told "never again to call" the office of Columbia Pictures studio boss, Harry Cohn? To receive from one of the Marx Brothers, the gift of a camera? Author Laura June Kenny experienced all this and more. Her memoir provides a unique look at a Hollywood and a Southern California that is no more, and cannot be replaced. Born disadvantaged in the worst year of the Great Depression, her fate was to be discovered and to be loved by a disparate group of people who inspired her to reach for the "real stars," and thereby find her stardom. Filled with rare photos from the author's own collection, this is the story of a Hollywood moppet turned teacher, writer, public speaker, emcee, wife, mother, grandmother, and what she learned along the way!
To be followed...

About Me

Canada
